Received a call today at approximately 4pm, showing 'private' on the phone, from "Lisa" from Windows Service something or other. She asked if I was the main user of the computer and I eventually said yes. She asked when was the last time I used my computer and I said 'today'. She said there was an issue with windows and that they had been trying to contact me via the computer without success and would I go to my computer. I cut her off then by interrogating her about the name of her company and where she was calling from. She said it was from level ? and I think an address in Martin Place Sydney. I said how about you give me your number so I can call you back. She said 'certainly ma'am, it is (02) 8006 9015. She asked when I'd be calling back, I said later, this is not a good time. She said they would be there until 8.30pm and I should call and ask for Lisa.
I have just put the number into my search engine and it was revealed by various websites, including this one, and the Dept of Fair Trading that this is a scam. It is now 7.10pm and 'Lisa' has just called again. I told her to please not call me, she said why, I said 'because you are a scammer. I hung up the phone.

"Alice" rang and informed me my computer was sending error messages. She had my name and address. Knew it was a scam but I asked for her number and promised to call back. They are very pushy and persistent. Just scum bags!!!

Got a call from 'Anna' and 'Eve' wanting me to go to their website www.support.me so they could 'fix' my infected computer. Things were looking promising after phoning the Police with all the details until the supervisor took over the call and basically gave me the bum's rush saying they 'couldn't' do anything.

I simply tell them I don't have a computer - not what they expect to hear.

Just had a call from them 15/3/14. Anna (Indian female) said Windows had report my PC sending out viruses or spam. Asked me to log on computer and follow her request. Suspected something wrong so I asked for her number and checked reverse 02.8006.9015.
I won't be calling her back now !

If you get a call from these people let the ACCC know on https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/content/index.phtml/tag/reportascam/
hopefully they or CERT can catch them.

I notified CERT as I believe that the Federal Police should be able to bust them for some kind of communications fraud, or attempting to gain financial benefit from deception. Cert is more for Hacker response though, but they seemed very interested and said they’d get back to me.

They called my elderly aunt and she gave them all her details and they even set up a PayPal account in my aunts name. They have already taken money from her account. How can we stop this low life from scamming people.

Just had a call today from them, my wife took their number, l called them back 5 minutes ago, John answered and put me onto Angel, she tried telling me windows let them know of registered computors that have viruses and they contact us to help us out, when l pressed her she said don't waste my time and hung up!
Think this is one for a Current Affair to follow up!

Initially, the caller phone ID shows on my phone as 0999910010. The male caller who speaks with an Indian accent, identifies himself as John. Says he is from a company who will help get rid of viruses on my computer. He gives details of website to download free virus protection. He gives the number (02) 8006 9015 to call him back. I didn't back so he called again. I asked for his full name which he says is John Smith. An Indian named John Smith????? This is a scam where they try to get into your computer and get into your bank details.
