Missed the call "from" this number - returned the call, call answered by someone in Fraud Investigations Dept of Tax Office (apparently in Sydney) - person didn't ask for any of my details, just said whoever it was would try and call me back. No need - my tax is up to date and I don't owe anything thanks. Received voice message - robotic message about tax fraud pffffttt.... number blocked.

I've received a few calls from this number but they never left a message so I didn't call back. However, they decided to leave a message the other day.... You missed a call from (02) 8006 8549, who said "We're the tax fraud and the investigation team of our department is investigating you and your family. We had trying to notify you regarding this issue but we can never get you" Their English wasn't the best so I assumed it was a scam.........and didn't call back 😁

scammed number . Thy say they have filed fraud case under my name because tax avoidance , etc. They worked as a syndicate. I heard few people on the background talked on the phone.

The same scam happened to me just now. Automated voice about me making a fraud to ATO.

they advised from Australian Taxation Office and asked my name so they can check who called and then they hung up. there was alot of noise in the back ground the the operator had an accent.

I don't call back unknown numbers unless they leave me a message identifying themselves and their business with me and then I am happy to return calls. Otherwise, how did they even get my personal mobile number, right? This number has been calling regularly and not leaving a message so I ignored it. Last call finally left a message - the robotic voice telling me that by ignoring previous calls they considered I had committed "intentional fraud" against them and that a lawsuit had been filed against me. I got the number (02) 8006 8549 to call their department. NO chance of that. Morons. DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THESE IDIOTS. The ATO does not use the term "lawsuit".

Caller: I received a call from this number with an voice message in which saying it is from the Australian Taxation Office

The message said The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has commenced a fraud investigation against me and my family for tax fraud and so far ATO could not contact me thus called and asked me to call back on the (02) 8006 8549.
I personally believe this is a fraud committed by the caller - Please be cautious if you ever receive call from this number and do not call back or give any personal details to the caller.

The Robotic voice claimed that I have a Fraudulent claim against me.

They said me and my family has been engaged in a fraud. If I don't call back then they will file a law suit and file me as a fraud. LOL I don't think so
