Call from this number stating I had been over charged by $7,000 + by the banks... ask to verify my date of birth so I gave them a different one (made up) and they said, yes correct, thank you! Scam scam scam...these people need to be put away.

Just had scam call they say I have over 7548 refund due. I had to call this number to speak to the very busy supervisor.

said i was due $7,280 from the government reclaim office if rang this number

recieved phone call, to ring (02) 8006 1416, for a $7000+ rebate stsate i was to ring them. when asked why i needed to ring them was told their managers were to busy.

My mother had a call today saying they were from the govt refunding gst. When told to send a letter they said three had been sent and returned. Asked for date of birth to confirm identity. Told to ring (02) 8006 1416 with a reference number to get further details.

Caller with Indian/Pakistani accent claimed to be "Max Lewis" from the Australian Government. My "refund" was $7,268. When I suggested that he was a crook, he said he was in Sydney and calling from (02) 8006 1416. I hung up and so should you.

This is clearly a scam and this page should have a call type "SCAM" in its drop-down list of call types.

My mother was called by them 31.1.2014 sounds like a scam asked for $199 solicitors fees to have money refunded.

Caller claiming to be Aust. Govt. re money owing to me. Asked me to call this no. to claim refund.

I have money owed to me by a government department, when I refused to give out my details I asked for a phone number 02 800 614 16 am not going to return their call as I have so much money outstanding from various Government departments and lotto's :)

Pestering seniors in retirement villages. Ignore them, give out no details, and hang up. Do not engage in info sharing

Anyone have any info on no (02) 8006 1416 re a scam
