Then tried hitting me up for a date
Soon as I said, this number been tracked they hung up

Hoax call claiming to be from The Australian Taxation Office threatening arrest by police for tax evasion. Who do they think they are kidding.

Pre recorded message talking about closing account because of a tax file number??? And having to take action?

They called me too and I asked them to send me an email but they refused and I hang up.

Ignored call and reported to police.

I received the same type of call from (02) 8005 8688 (i.e. about a case against me by the ATO and a warrant being issued for my arrest). I have been told by Police that it is a scam. Do not respond to calls from 02 8005 8688. The scammers want your personal details to fraudulently take your money!

Received call 12.42pm 27th February 2018. Same story ie Federal Police saying arrest warrant has been issued for me and to call this number back - tax office. No way!!!

Utter nonsense to scam money from you

Voice no longer sounds foreign but good english. Second call of this nature i have received.
Surprise surprise I didn't call back so can't comment on that receiver.
Could easily deceive someone not knowledgable of this sort of scam.

Got the same phone call as others. Tax fraud. Gives a reference number as well. Don't ring back!!!

Same call - this number rang and lefft a recorded message advising warrant for arrest. i called back and no answer - i figured the ATO of all people would have a toll free number or at least a voicemail to leave a message when they dont answer. call received at 26/2/18 at 10:55

Same call as all those before my post, ignore and treat with contempt.

Got to be a scam. I reckon the number is one of those ones which are overseas and it costs you money when you call. Don't call back!

Received a message asking to call this number saying it was the ATO with a reference number and that a case would be filed against me and a warrant issued for my arrest.
Call received 11.34am on February 22 2018.
Is this a scam?
