I have just been contacted by phone by a Justin Bradshaw from an Indian Company who say that they are representative of Microsoft Windows and that they are receiving “Error” & “Warning” messages from my computer. They asked me to open my computer and check my “Event Viewer” to show me all the warnings and messages. They then comment on the speed of my computer and ask which software I am using for Malware & Viruses.
They are asking me to check their credentials and they steer me to a website:
http://www.gitt.com.au/
They want me to give them access to my computer and say they will help sort this out. I also asked them about the cost, the reply was “not to worry about money” and that they would fix my computer this time for free but then there would be a “1 off charge”
I asked them to give me their phone number and that I would call them back They gave me this number – (02) 8005 0464 (also (02) 8003 5397/">(02) 8003 5397) After I hung up I googled their name:- Global IT Technologies
I then rang my IT advisor who confirmed that it is a Scam and that they are voracious at the moment. His Advice was o Ask them to give you the IP address of your computer, their response will be that they are not able to do this as it is in their Head Office o Do not let them have access to your computer!!

Had a call from a Sean Lee with a very Indian accent today. He told me his company worked for Microsoft and had shown that it was running slowly. He asked me to go to the control panel and choose settings. I said why should I trust him when he'd just rung me out of the blue so he gave me the company name of www.globalittechnicians.com tel.no. 02035140065 and said when I'd checked them out on the internet he was sure I'd want to call him back for his help. I don't think so!

Like some of the other people who have commented I too appear to have been scammed. Rose was also the person whose name was 'used'. was ubder pressure in my own office at the same time they phoned (I spoke to more than one person) as well trying to get outside work done on the farm just prior to dark and getting the evening meal ready. Any futurre any calls at that time of day will be be disregarded and I will be asking them to call back at a more suitable time.

i can confirm this. just received a call this morning claiming to be from microsoft wanting me to load up the computer and start making some 'fixes' to help 'protect' against some sort of 'virus that is affecting my computer every time i load up'. i became suspicious when they began trying to get me to modify the remote access to allow them to make changes to 'clean' my computer. do not fall for it. they do not have a certification code or anything that authorizes them to do this work for microsoft. they get pushy when you ask for it and will say things like 'clearly you do not want to protect your computer'. i asked repeatedly for a number to verify what they were saying and this is the one i received. thanks for posting 'sam sikascams'. everyone else watch out for rubbish like this and post online to warn others of this crap.

I just received a call from the same number well thats the number i was given and a so called man by the name of "David Louis" he was from "Customer cair for WINDOWS" he had stated that each time i accsess the intranet from my computer i was receiving malicious files as well as trojans. I kinda knew it was a scam as i am computer smart so i knew that none of this had occered. so i said that my computer has been pulled apart for 3 months and i couldent see how it can send files as its not connected to the power for a start and then it hasnt been connected to the intranet for 3 months and then he was quick to say oh oh oh but you have had accsess to the intranet before you had pulled it apart thoe you were at risk then too and we keep receiving messages from you about the problems. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. he then hung up on me as i stopped talking. LMAO!!

My wife was called today by a man with an Indian accent with this story about how he was from Microsoft and that they noticed that our pc was running slow. at this point my wife, who is skeptical at best of any telemarketers, asked him to explain how he got our no, at which point he became agitated and started to become a little aggressive and repeating that he was a Microsoft technician. My wife managed to get his ph no of of him and said her husband would call them back. I came home and called the no and after a no of rings of the (02) 8003 5397, I got through to 'Agit' who after a series of questions confessed he was from PC Consulting. Given that was not Microsoft I just hung up figuring it was not legit. Thanks for all these posts, helped confirm a suspicion.

this is a scam plz its mym request to dont do d things wat they want u to do............... global pc protection is a indian company........................an a scam company

People who 'phone and say there is something wrong with your computer and they can fix it remotely are scammers. That is the simple answer. No one who 'phones knows anything about your computer. They rely on scare tactics and lack of computer knowledge. They can and often do install spyware/malware to steal personal information and will charge money for software which can be installed for free. They have nothing to do with Microsoft and are not authorised by Microsoft to contact people, nor do they receive messages about our computers from Microsoft. Giving remote access to someone who cold calls is like handing your wallet to a stranger in the street.
