These people are SO annoying.. Must be using an auto-dialer.. New phone call every 10-15 minutes from this number, no one there.. Rang quantum PC on the (03) 9999 7448 to ask them (for the 3 time this year, even changing providers) to remove my phone number from their call register.. There has to be some way of reporting to someone??

Getting about 4 call a day from that number, nobody on the other end these days. Why can't the number be shut down by the authorities or Telstra etc? Very annoying.

They don't give up because eventually they find someone who falls for their scam.

When these people got to talk to me and they asked me to go to my computer and turn it on i just stayed where i was and just said that i was there and was following their instructions. Needless to say, they got a little frustrated when the computer wasnt doing what they wanted and they just hung up.

The "hang-ups" are obviously because they are ringing from a number of phones all at once and they pick up the first one that answers and hang up on the rest. I have had a few of these calls that hang up but with the ones that have someone on the other end, I string them along for a while pretending to be stupid and about 4 or 5 minutes into the conversation they ask if I am in front of my computer, so they can help me fix it and that is when I tell them, it is in the shop being fixed for the very reason they are calling. That is when they usually give up and hang up, quite rudely. Clearly, if you don't have what they want, they give up. As one cannot physically get a hold of these thieves, then they only deserve the lies thrown back at them. Hopefully they will waste enough money on phone calls to realise it is no use for them to call again???????

Had a phone call that came up on caller ID as (02) 8002 4760 telling me that they were from Quantum PC Support and that our computers where show red & yellow flags. They asked me to write down (03) 9999 7448 and ring that number to verify & also look up the website www.scamwatch.gov.au and could not see anything. Thankfully I checked a little further and will not be trusting these guys.

Same deal as above.
Thank you Peter for your comprehensive and informative post above. I salute you sir.
These scamming crettins are as prolific as the proverbial dog poo or cigarette butt on your suburban footpath.
Come on Telstra, we do not pay you a monthly line hire fee for this type of constant assault by these privacy rapists. Its about time you put something in place to stop these filth from using your exchanges.

Just had another call from these scammers!!
He said that there was some one on my computer downloading viruses and would I allow him into my computer.
Two problems with this scenerio;
1st As I type I am 1400 ks from home
2nd When the call came through I had not even opened the lap top, which I am using at the present time.
One has to wonder how many people these scum have scammed...
