Calls a few times a week, leaves no message.

I answered this number, Australian accent (I'm a Kiwi), claiming to be from some company with Equity in its title dealing with Tax and had knowledge of my name (??? don't ask me how) and that he and I had spoken several months prior to this contact, I questioned him if he had my email address and my TFN ... he replied with a "no", at this point (to my understanding) all Government personnel have a process of identification to clarify and verify not only themselves and the person they are contacting with a ready to go reference number and questionnaire to verify individuals. This he did not have ... I refused to continue, said my goodbyes, hung up, blocked his number and now informing others ... Be Aware People ... unless they can verify themselves, the company they are contacting you from and reference numbers ... otherwise ... BLOCK AND DELETE!!!

Rang the number back. Not connected.

Missed call. No message

Keeps calling and then hanging up when I answer. Nuisance call (02) 8000 5669

you know it's spam when the number is disconnected when you try to call back. Why do the telcos allow this sh*t to go on. How many times can a number be used like this and not draw the attention of the Ombudsman or the telco (Optus in this case).
