Caller: (02) 8000 2549-unknown caller As my partner was finishing work & this number called (02) 8000 2549 (a womens voice) claiming someone was hacking into his internet from California, USA. He immediately freaked out & couldn’t understand what he was meant to do cause his computer/phone illiterate. He asked them to call back in 5 minutes (as he works 3 minutes done the road) because I knew technically more than he did. They rang back, explained what was going on & tried to get me to enter digits into his internet browser on his phone. As they were talking I did my own thing to find out if he’d been hacked into. I said ‘his phone isn’t being hacked cause I did my own search so what are you on about?’ Then she proceeded to tell me it was the home internet. Then I said to her ‘well we don’t have that as home internet in this small town is just as crap just like the mobile phone internet.’ She told me I was stupid like my partner & I told her ‘I worked for the afp in computer frud.’ Well I got a mouthful of abuse & she hung up. Called the number & wouldn’t go threw. I laugh cause I never worked for the afp & I don’t think they’ll hire me anyway.

Caller: Mike Philips Received a call from a Mike Philips (although his accent didn't sound like his name would be Mike) claimed to be from Telstra (employee ID: 12394376). He said my internet has been hacked by people overseas and he could show me the issues and fix them, only if I type in an address in the URL and run a program. I told him I wouldn't typing in anything in the URL or running any programs on his request as that's how hackers get access to your PC. Also, told him that I believed that he was a scammer. He then hung up the phone before saying I was talking rubbish LOL.

Cold call to mobile, no message left. Did a google check and wound up here. As per the other reports suspect an attempted scam.

Scam call from this number. Automated voice and then put through to a person. Claiming hackers using my internet IP for illegal activities. Claiming users from California and Melbourne.
