Received a call today from this number claiming to be from the "ATO". I knew this was a scammer as the ATO do not use a caller ID. Always call the ATO directly for peace of mind.

Scammer called in from this number claiming to be from the ATO. I know this is a scam as the ATO does not use a caller ID. Avoid at All costs.

I called back number (02) 7908 0000 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.

Rang back. "You're call is very important to us, please stay on the line" then hung-up. Yep "very important" When they rang initially you could hear Indian voices in the background.
Complete sham !

Message that says to stay on the line and wait for an agent. Then there is no agent just dead air. American accent in the message. I wouldn't bother calling back.
