Caller: Scammer using the name Macquarie I received an sms claiming to be from Macquarie (bank), with the number above to call and claiming that an authenticator had been setup on a new device. The number dialled out twice but answered on the third call. The scammer claimed an attempt had been made to access my account from NZ and that he needed to secure my account. There were a few giveaway signs that he was not from a legitimate security team, including getting agitated when I asked him questions to verify himself, so I hung up. The odd thing was that I'd been talking to the real Macquarie just 20 minutes earlier, so I reported the incident to them.
