Caller: NDIS As someone else posted - this is actually NDIS/NDIA. And it’s not a scam.
The number(02) 7256 7981 I’ve checked repeatedly. And I’ve called ndis 1800 to check - and got put thru eventually toexactly the same person who called me originally from the (02) 7256 7981 number. I also asked her to email me - to triple check. And the email was legit ndis/ndia.
Yes it comes up as a number coming from Sydney. Where ndis call centres are physically located is not relevant to where a number shows as being from. (Another comment saying their call centres are only in canb and Geelong)
This number is indeed NDIS/NDIA. Not a scam or spoofing.
People commenting saying it’s a scam & not to give them your details - yes always double check & be diligent and if ur ever in doubt don’t give out personal details. Call back or call a number you’ve looked up yourself. But this number, (02) 7256 7981 IS not a scam and it is from ndis/ndia. And it can be confirmed by calling NDIS1800 number as well. As I’ve done - and you be put thru to the same person who originally called you.

Caller: NDIA Not a scam. This is definitely NDIA - I received an email shortly after confirming the attempted call. It was confirming provider endorsement for my daughter’s PBS practitioner, which funds are NDIA managed (everything else self-managed). I replied to the email stating my preferred method of contact was email as I too am an NDIS participant with extreme anxiety with answering my phone. This is noted on mine and both my children’s files … In any case, this was not a scam.

I was called too and refused to give details. If the NDIA was using this number, they would have it on their website to ensure full transparency. When ever I ring the NDIA to answer a question, the call centre often simply reads from the website.

Caller: Supposedly the NDIA I received a message from Mary from the NDIA who was unable to leave a message on my phone because I did not announce my full name on my voicemail. Who would do that on their phone anyway. I decide to contact one of my children's therapists who lives near us just to see if she knew anything and I lety husband know as well. Our therapist did know a thing and my husband said it was a scam call. If you have kids on the NDIS check with the NDIS first on the portal do not ring back the number. The scammers will do anything to take money away from our kids and from your bank balance. They don't deserve it but most especially neither do our kids, block the number and if you do speak to them tell them to jam it

Just a note, I have no real reason for NDIS to call me. The call centers are in Canbara and Geelong no reason for it to be a Sydney based number. Since they are goverment and shared services the number should always be private. Left no voice mail. Also when NDIS call they first send a SMS saying you should be receiving a phonecall from NDIS within the next 30min...... This may be a scam confirming your details.

Caller: I don't know Scam. I answered using AI. Here is their reply: '...My name is Justine. I'm calling from the national disability insurance agency as your voice wanted not identified by your first and last name on that, I will explain the reasons why I caught today. Could you please retinal on 1 800 801 0 between the hours of 8 AM for 8 PM Monday, Friday and on short determines a weapon is them to expand and raise for my culture. I think he..' And here is what AI told me: '..This message appears suspicious due to the following reasons:
1. Incoherent Language: The response contains grammatical errors and disjointed sentences, such as "short determines a weapon is them to expand raise for my culture," which does not make sense in context.
2. Ambiguous Identification: While the caller identifies as "Justine" from a national agency (potentially the National Disability Insurance Scheme - NDIS), there is no clear identification or explanation of the purpose of the call.
3. Request for a Call Back: Legitimate government agencies typically do not ask you to call back a generic number without providing further details.
4. Potential Scam Indicators: Calls requesting you to dial another number without verifying their legitimacy could be scams designed to elicit personal information.
To confirm whether this is a legitimate call:
1. Avoid calling back the number provided.
2. Contact the official NDIS helpline (use the official contact from their website) to verify if the call is genuine.
3. Report the suspicious call to the relevant authorities, such as Scamwatch in Australia.
If you're unsure, exercise caution and do not provide personal information or make any commitments until the caller’s identity is verified...' Legitimate SCAM

Caller: NDIA I can confirm that this number IS the NDIA. I emailed them a few days ago for help with a payment request that was rejected. I missed their first call and they didn't leave a message. Searched the number and found that the number may or may not be the NDIA. I was on guard when they called back. After asking me to confirm my full name and phone number, the caller said she would email me a manual claim form for the rejected claims and told me how to avoid the problem in future.

Caller: scammer I received a phone call from this number. The person stated they were calling from the NDIA and asked me to confirm my details, I told her my name, but then realised the phone calls are usually from a private number. As soon I questioned this, she said she would be terminating the call because I refused to confirm my details and would put a note on my file. I asked her what her call was about, and she said she couldn't tell me without confirming my details. When I asked her what her role was and if she was one of my children's planners, she said she couldn't disclose the information. When I asked for her ID, she said her name was NAV and her ID number was NCL 410. I have rung the agency, and they have stated they don't have anyone with that ID and there are no notes on my children's files. Be careful, as it is possible for scammers to use apps so the phone number appears as a genuine number.
