Caller: Tamala Person claims to be from ANZ Bank and sent a text stating they will call shortly to discuss an ANZ matter. The mobile number is not visible when checking the info area of the text message. Same person sent a similar text last week using the number (03) 8580 8200. I rang the ANZ bank and this person does not exist

Caller: ANZ Bank I received an SMS from ANZ advising that Aerole would call me within a minute to discuss a banking matter. Aerole called from (02) 7231 6200 and asked me if I'd initiated a transaction to buy a Gift Card. I told him I had and he said that transactions for Gift Cards raise an alert within the bank as they are considered to be high risk transactions, so the transaction is blocked until ANZ contacts the customer to verify it.
