Received a recorded telling me to call this Centrelink (sic) number. I called Centrelink in its 13 number and after about one hour wait (answering my other questions as well) confirmed that this (02) 6515 2027 is not theirs.

My dad got a call from "Centrelink" saying he hadn't completed a form for a rise in pay. They didn't ask for any information just gave him this number. My first clue that it wasn't Centrelink was the message said that I was the first in the queue. When they answered I asked if this was Centrelink and a woman asked "do you doubt that", I said yes and the call was disconnected.

Received a pre-recorded message stating that Centrelink had been unable to contact me and that I was owed back money and provided the number (02) 6515 2027 as a number to call back on. At the end of the recording an indian sounding male voice provided an application number which was not the same as our current centrelink number. Obviously scammers of some type.

Sounds legit for some parts of the recorded message then you get the Indian sounding scammers. Spoke to an Indian sounding scammer saying they are from Canberra.

recorded message from overseas number purporting to be on behalf of Dept of Human Services (Centrelink). Said as no response received to several letters regarding a benefits increase, "file had been sent to Canberra Head Office". Gave a reference number and advised to phone Canberra Clink (02) 6515 2027. Obviously a scam!

Claiming to be from Centrelink and that I need to return paperwork and call this number. It was a prerecorded message.

Scammers!
