Wanted to give me a better deal for Electricity & Gas

Caller: "Compare the Market"

They tried to get me to change my electricity plan, and got incredibly rude when I said I'd get back to them only after speaking to my housemates. Insisted that we schedule a call back. When I said I'd call back when I'm ready, they said I couldn't and that would next week.

Even of this service was not a scam, they still provide horrible customer service. Blocked.

He wanted to give me a "better deal" on my electricity.
No caller ID, but showed up as calling from Merimbula, NSW. Is this ploy even legal? There is definitely NO Indian call centre based in this small coastal town !!

called me 4 times today i missed the calls so i called back and the message said this number is not in service, how do they do that? probably indian scammers

don't pickup the call. they are just trying to sell you things and waste your time

I called back number (02) 6442 4914 reached voice mail but did not say for what company.

Yep filthy, stinking Indian scum 'selling' electricity. These idiots obviously don't realise that QLD's electricity doesn't work like that. It all costs the same price and it can't get any cheaper. They can give you discounts on your final payment, like 5% or something sh*t.

Call from Merimbula. Only rings for very short time no voice mail after a number of calls. Blocked.

I don't answer calls I don't recognise but they don't leave a message and yes when I try and call back it's "out of service". Will try and block but the best action is to not answer numbers you don't recognise - if it's important/legit they will leave a message!

I believe this is another scam call as per previous 13 comments, didn't pick up the call, terrible people trying to lie on Monday.

Calling me every afternoon. Blocked them after the first one but it still dhows as a missed call. When I called back says number not in service.

Caller: Some Gupta

Claimed they were from Compare the Market. Got crusty when I said I was at work. Called back a few days later and were all set to change my account details. I said no but they could email me.

Called again a few days later and were upset with me because I hadn’t received their email. Maybe because I never gave them my email address.

Have called a couple more times this week.

Crank call. Telemarketing.

Caller: They called themselves select compare.

Asked me what percentage discount I was receiving when I said the maximum they said there were going to take some notes then hung up on me. I called the number back but it said it wasn’t connected.

Caller: SCAM!

They called and didn't leave a message. When I called them back it says "number not in service"! Block away!

SPAM CALL

Rang constantly every 5 minutes for about half an hour, went to messages but they never left one.

Caller: don't know but said the caller was from Merimbula

I don't know anyone from Merimbula so cut the call off obviously some sort of scam
