Caller: Scammer pretending she is from department of health

Saying I lost my right to get vaccine jabs.

Caller: On labor Day, Scammer pretending he is from department of health and looking for a person with wrong name.
And the guy was speaking Chinese/Mandarin.

Scammers keep calling pretending to be from health department and request to speak Mandarin. Yes I can but i speak English with them then they hang up immediately. Come on scammers if you are calling from Australia from a government entity please at least work on your English.

Pretend to be calling from Dept of Health making threatening comment claiming mobile number sending out unsolicited spam.

Hung up.

Knew my full name, spoke in mandarin. Pretending to be from department of health. LOL NEVER KNEW AUSTRALIAN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SPOKE MANDARIN GEEZ (btw I also speak mandarin) I would’ve just started swearing honestly if I wasn’t in a busy coffee shop. He was lucky today.

knew it was a scam since i looked up the number, hang up and it called back 3 times in a row... How annoying

Same like others, claimed he is calling from dept of health, saying I was been to hospital in Canberra which has case of chicken pox, asked me to isolate at home and sending people to my place, I’m at Melbourne mat! Nice try!
Then starting to say someone using my identity to apply the random mobile insisted ask me to contact China police for verify my identity, I then replied don’t worry my uncle works for Chinese embassy in China he will find these losers and lock them away!
Then he gave up😆

Just got the same call, knowing my full name, speaking mandarin, and saying they had a very important document for me.

Same here. A guy called me saying a number registered under my name and spread illegal messages regarding covid. He couldn't understand English and was talking quite aggressively. I don't understand the purpose of the call. What was he trying to do?! I hang up and blocked the number.

these guys so annoying... can government do something to stop the scammers???? So frustrated about them,,,

I have received the call from this number and various of other numbers and claimed he is from department of health. I have been to Canberra hospital and exposed some contagious virus or something. I said not me. Then the guy said I need to report identity breach which makes sense. And he said this phone number from Shanghai airport and he can connect me to police in Shanghai. I hang up and he keeps calling. I called back to this number and it actually went to department of health and aged care. They don’t look after hospital activities. And also told me to ignore. It is definitely a scam. How these guys can pretend to be someone else in phone number?

Btw they speak mandarin and I know Shanghai didn’t speak mandarin that way. Accent sounds from Taiwan.

I have received the same today! For god sake, I called back to this number and it was department of health and aged care and they asked me to ignore. It is a spam!

Exactly the same, they called with 5 different numbers starting from 02 6289, ending with 1555, 5385, 3116, 7938, 6575

Knew my name, spoke in mandarin and poor English. Pretending to be from hospital Canberra.

The guy called me 6 times today, asking why I didn’t pick up the call earlier in Mandarin….

Received a call ostensibly from this number- knew my name. Said they were calling from Canberra Hospital and were sending someone to my house for some reason (English was very poor) - I think it was to collect a debt but the caller was vague. Don't live in ACT nor does any of my family. Indian call centre scam.

A male speaking Mandarin, said he was from the Department of Health and asked about my registered Chinese mobile number. But the first name and number were all wrong. He said I could call department of health back if having any doubts.

A guy called me saying a china mobile number registered under my chinese name and spread illegal messages regarding covid. And got someone report to the local police at 16/09, making him to call me😂 I asked him why Department of health calling on Saturday, he said because this is a Chinese hotline. I told him I was in Australia and he arguably said why someone reported you then. He couldn't understand English and was talking quite aggressively. I suspect that he is asking me to TT $$ to China for settling this dispute. hang up and blocked the number. The reason for me to pick up this call was Department of Health caller ID. The question is why he knew my Chinese full name😰
