When there is a gap from when you say hello to when they speak you know it an overseas scam call. I just said "What do you want?" rather gruffly and he hung up

He said he was calling from Telstra and to go and turn my machine on. I told him I was having lunch and hung up.

I recommend when they say "you have a problem with your computer", ask them if you should turn on your computer? When they say "yes please", say okay I will boot it up now. Put the phone down beside a radio or telly speaker and let them wait a long time. They can't call anyone else while hanging on.

My new home phone has a Call Block button. So good for these calls :D

3 times in 1 day with the latest being 7.15pm WST. Voice mail received with lots of background call centre noise

I love these calls, I go along with it and when they ask me what is showing on my screen, I say, "It says F Off you cheating, scamming, criminal crooks." They hang up pretty quickly, the more people that stand up to these idiots the better.

Yet another attempted Computer Scam call. The conversation went like -
Caller - "Are you in front of your computer". heard it all many times before, so -
Me - "No. P... O.."
Thoroughly sick of these time wasters.

Indicated that he was from a computer call centre and that I had a problem with my computer. Told him that if there was a problem, my computer technician would fix it. ( I am computer literate when it comes to fixing computers!}

It sounded as if this was an Indian call centre, with a lot of noise in the background a female said I had a problem with my computer.
