Called me at 2am crapping on about ATO tax fraud. I showed the number to the police this morning who called the number and someone answered! Sounded like a call centre in the background. The police asked to speak to the person in charge and the receiver said yes, pressed some buttons and then hung up.

Recorded message from the tax office at 5 am, didn't listen to the full message as I said 'do you know what time it is' and no response, worked out quickly that it was a con but it is worrying getting a phone call at that time in the morning. Just hang up on this number as they are grubs.

Claiming to be from the tax office, leaving a message saying that i had not payed tax and to ring this No (02) 6188 5662

This caller said he was from the ATO. Apparently we are being investigated for criminal activity and need to call this 'hotline' or suffer the consequences. WTF?
