Just got a call from this number ‭(02) 6176 0877‬ about tax and there was a warrent for my arrest, I believe it is a scam

I'm Geoff from Gosnells WA. I just received a call from this number (02) 6176 0877 claiming I owed tax from ATO and that I was due for arrest. I called back and a guy with an Indian accent answered as if it was the tax office and asked me to confirm my name .as soon as I did he hung up. I called again and the numbed was permanently engaged!.

Also got a call said i owed $1,800 for FY 2012-2017 - asked how he knew all this without me providing him any names or details, said he knew everything. i then asked him what my name was....he hung up.

got voice message from ato. called back and claimed i had $2100 outstanding before he knew my name or atfn. tried to get my details.

I also received a missed call from this 'Canberra' number with a pre-recorded voicemail message claiming the ATO urgently wanted to speak with me AND that there was a warrant out for my arrest (which is ridiculous).

yep, pretty much same as all of the above - marked for incorrect filing - tax avoidance - mail had been returned - very urgent - call back to avoid arrest! I am passing details on to my account - SCAM!

This is a scam call!
They will try to tell you that you have some sort of tax infringement, and there is an immediate warrant for your arrest - unless you make a payment on that phone call. ATO will never put a warrant for your arrest - NEVER

I also received this. Apparently there is a warrant out for my arrest. Doubt if that were true that I would be informed via voicemail. SCAM

Missed called with same cutoff voicemail informing of investigation by ‘ATO’ into tax avoidance, with threat of warrant for arrest.

mentioned i owed them money and i will get arrested . clearly a scam. it was an automated recorded voice.

I've just had the same call - I thought this scam was going around almost a year ago now...the scammers have obviously ran out of new ideas!

Same thing . To do with tax avoidance and a warrent for my arrest to be sent out. A scam I believe

SCAM SCAM SCAM. Pretends he is from the ATO office and you owe them money that you have to pay over the phone.

I received the same voicemail today, any ideas what this is?

Voice main message to say that the address they had for me is incorrect and their correspondence has been sent back. Then recording said something along the lines of a warrant for my arrest and I must call them back in a timely manner.

Automated voice (cut off at the start too) claiming that I have been identified as a tax avoider and letters sent to my home have been returned unsigned.... whateva..... scammers.

left message saying my TFN had been marked for tax avoidance

Automated voice said, due to tax avoidance fraud... a warrant has been issued because the documents they mailed me have been sent back.
