Similar to comments above - scam

Same automated message received this morning from (02) 6176 8077 Canberra ACT advising of tax avoidance etc and returned mail. Obvious scam - all tax personal tax matters are handled directly by my accountant.

same thing happened to myself - and to call back on (02) 6176 0877 . Generated voice message saying I have been avoiding payment of tax - ridiculous !

Called my wife claiming to be from the tax department and there was a warrant for her arrest. Number is a Canberra number. Very convincing giving claim and police warrant numbers etc. the poor English was a dead give away though!!

I believe this is a scam. Claiming to be from ATO and I will get arrested for tax avoidance. Called back immediately, Indian sounding man said hello and then hung up. Must be a scam.

Automated message for tax fraud, definitely a scam.

Just received the same scam call with automated voice talking about tax avoidance and a warrant for my arrest

I called back the number. Sounds indian but said his name is Leroy Jones and even identified his "badge number". Hung up when I asked his name again and said I'll call him back via ATO official number.

Very scary message saying is from Taxation Department.
Specially saying that I own money and I can be prosecuted if I don’t contact them.
Fortunately I checked on the net and other people had the same issue.

I just received a voice msg from this number saying that TAX office asking you to pay overdue immediately , after I called back an Indiana man was talking, he said that i have to pay overphone 500$ otherwise police will cone to your door to arrest you and your bank account will be frizzed.

ATO called my client to threaten arrest... what a sham

I just had the same message left on my voicemail. First bit also cut off.
