regarding a known fraud and my family was being investigated. it was a voice recorder type message, not a person.
similar to the ATO fraud of 3 years ago

Automated male voice informing me that myself and my family were being investigated for tax fraud.

Caller: Australian Taxation

Recorded message, telling me I was being investigated for fraud. Claimed that I had been contacted a number of times and have chosen to ignore them.

This is a scam call. It is a recorded message with an American accent, claiming to be the Australian Taxation Office saying something like "we are filing a case under your name for "the tax fraud" and the investigation team is investigating you and your family. We had tried to contact you but as there's been no response we consider this an intentional fraud and are lodging a legal case against you. For more information contact this number (which I'm leaving out as I don't want anyone calling these idiots!)

Supposedly from ATO indicating I am being investigated for tax fraud etc, etc. I hung up on the obvious fraudster.

You missed a call from (02) 6172 0487, who said "Australian Taxation Office is filing a case under your name for the tax fraud and the investigation team of our with department is investigating you and your family ___."

I do not answer I unknown numbers for this reason as majority are scammers.

Pretending to be from the Australian Taxation Office saying I am being investigated.

Obviously a scam call. Said that there was tax fraud and we were being investigated. Was a robot voice and had absolutely no personal details.

My advice is to completely ignore it, don't call back the number and inform the 'real' ATO of a scam call:
