caller sounded indian claiming to be calling on behalf of Commonwealth department of public prosecutions. said that they had a warrant in my name and was to do with the Australian Taxation Office.The call was taken on my answering machine and I have not returned the call as I don't believe the ATO works this way.Just to be sure I rang the ATO and they reassured me that there was no problem with my account.

I got a call from this number today at the place I work. I was told it was Genivieve with the ATO and the business was going to be prosecuted for fraudulent behavior. The initial call was a recorded message by an Indian woman who was very direct and abrupt. I called the number back a few minutes later and drilled the little c@nt to give them a piece of my mind. But the stupid jerk said 'We may have the wrong number'... yeah.. have reported it to ATO and will also report to CDPP.gov.au - What is the world coming to! :(

Left two Messages in an Indian accent. Was a bit threatening but said bless you at the end of the messages. Repeated the call back number three times. Wish I had taken the call would have set them right.

Have CND and OVERSEAS Private no. called. Was woman with Indian accent and left message re ATO & warrant out in our name for fraud. Said it was a very serious and time sensitive issue and that I needed to call her back on (02) 6152 8697 as soon as possible! Repeated the no. several times... the (02) no. she left is not an overseas no. but clearly came up as "overseas caller" on CND

If you receive a call from this number, please go to CDPP.gov.au and find their contact number. This is a scam, and the CDPP are putting together a list of people that call to pass onto the AFP, who are investigating these calls.
