These bastards rang me yesterday and it scary the information they actually have obviously sourced and collated from many areas. I was going to be arrested within the hour and have my name published in the press everywhere for tax avoidance 2009 - 2013. I wasn't given any chance to verify who they are or anything. I got suspicious when they said I had to pay by Western Union if I wanted the charges dropped and an early resolution without further proceedings. Mr Jason Miller called quoting badge and employee numbers along with case files and so on. Eventually I got an opportunity to make alternative phone call to my accountant and the ATO who verified it is a scam and they have been after them for ages. Whew. Then it was time to have some fun with them and I let them think I was going to pay. Ha ha they did pay. They were phoning my mobile and I kept him on the phone for another two hours before I got bored and called their bluff and said it will nice not having to pay rent for a few years and they could pay all my food and medical expenses as well. When I said I will wait for the arresting officers.
The losers hung up. :-(

first was USA based then received 2 that were AU based - same message from a lady quite rude - a bit like she was reading from a script.

Had the same 'criminal case is registered against me' phone call as mentioned above on Monday and again today, both left as voicemail messages. The call is a recording by a female and is barely intelligible. It was fairly obvious that it was a scam (you'd think that an official phone call would at least come from someone who could speak English properly) but I'm glad to have come across confirmation here.

Tuesday 25/08/15. Received 2 phone calls 3.45pm & 6.19pm, from Asian sounding woman saying there's a Law Suit being filed against me for Tax Fraud & Tax Evasion - call this no. (02) 6152 8679 immediately. ATO or DPP don't personally call you do they. BEWARE and DON'T ANSWER. !!

we have had 4 calls from this number by a Lauren Camb from the office of Catherine Adams also claiming there is a case for tax evasion/fraud. Was recommended this site by a friend. Lucky we checked it!

I got two messages from Mark Brown saying the Gov't has a serious case against me!

Yes, same here good old Mr Mark Brown message left by a guy with an Indian accent. Was hilarious! He said if me or my lawyer doesn’t contact Mr Brown then he “wishes me good luck”.

This number '(02) 6152 8679' is NOT from the ATO.
ATO number is 132861 (general inquiries) or siimilar.

Received the same message 9th of June from 'Mark Brown'. I have confirmed with the ATO that it is definitely NOT their phone number.
DO NOT RESPOND to the request!
