Received an auotmated message from Jason OCONNOR of the ATO, wanting me to call him back on (02) 6152 8648, regarding a lawsuit of tax evasion that has been filed against me. After checking on this site, his name came up for previous scams. Would appear he is now using this number as well.

This phone number is a scammer. Hang up on him. DO NOT believe anything he says. DO NOT pay him any money. THIS IS A SCAM.......

Got the same call tonight. Scared me silly, but sounded super suss, so did a bit of research, including finding this number and comment by Pete. Relieved now to know it's nothing.

Had call from this number automated message saying there had been a serious lawsuit filed against me and call back immediately . Ignore it . Big scam

Got a call from that number today. Same scam. An automated message too - how lazy can the scammers get?

Has called me 4 times and left message same as above. The other week same voice said I had been involved in a car accident and I was about to be arrested. Told voice to bring it on.

Just had the same message, said "the police from the local police office will be coming with a warrant for your arrest". Glad to hear that it is a known scam, the poor gramma and heavy accent was a bit of a give away.

Jason O'Connor left a message on my work number threatening me with police coming for my arrest. He said he was from the ATO [number (02) 6152 8648] and there is a pending lawsuit against me. He never mentioned my name, thus I immediately thought this was not believable. And, of course, I am not a fraud and have committed no tax crimes!

Glad this is a scam as I got such a fright! Reporting to the police/crime stoppers immediately.

Same message left with same contact number.

Had "Jason" leave the same message for me today.
Suspected a scam and glad to see that it is.

I do not trust anyone these days on the phone. My mother sometimes has to prove who she is before I answer her questions, therefore, I searched the phone number and found these useful comments. The man used the name Allan Martin this time.

I had an automated call today too from this number saying he was Jason O'Connor regarding Tax and threatening me with the police.

Got the same Jason O'Connor- when he realised I was onto him- he called me a MotherF#cker and hung up!!!

Just had the same message from Jason O'Connor (ATO) left on my answering machine.

I just called the number .....sounds like it is a diversion on an Australian number to an overseas call number. He go very upset with me because I would not give him my name. I asked him for his ATO identity number and he replied with 0780 ...I then asked him his name and he refused to identify himself and kept asking me for my name. I advised him that the ATO in Australia actually has caller id and if he was legitimate he could have identified me my putting my number into the ATO system. He go quite nasty after that so I basically advised him that I knew this was a scam as the ATO in this country do not leave threatening messages on peoples answering machines and that he should find a real job. How stupid do they think people are.

Received the same message today. Am glad to see it is a spam message since it scared me as well.

Had a call today from Jason from 6152 8648, he too said he was from the ATO and wanted me to call him back regarding the police coming this house. Have reported to Crime stoppers.

Same for me today. Same message left about calling Jason O'Connor regarding impending arrest for tax evasion. Scam.

Received the same automated message as Pete. This person claims to be Jason O'Connor of the ATO. I have contacted the ATO - IT IS A SCAM
