Claiming they are from Australian financial depertment trying to repay over charges of $7589.00 but just have to pay a one off fee of $300
They gave me mangers names of Eric Watson and Angela Cooper. They give an application code so you can "claim"

Yes it is a SCAM Saying from a Government Department wanting to pay $7,000.00 into a Bank account or a Cheque for $7,000.00. They gave a number to ring which is this number (02) 6145 2685. The number they called from was 0427 542 631.

I work in Aged Care. On Friday 2nd sept many elderly residents were targeted between 1050 and 1130am by a caller with an Indian accent claiming to be from Government. Various stories re underpaid pension, overpaid chemist bill underpaid interest on bank accounts over many years. Believable amounts from $500 to 15000. Given reference number, above phone number and 2 names, Allan Johnson and Kyle Williams. asked several times to confirm ID then to call the number and ask for either of 2 names. Asked to confirm ID several times, asked for reference number then to confirm your account number. If you do the latter they put you on hold while they drain your bank account. Never under any circumstances, give your account details to anyone. Any government department that owe you money will pay direct into your account and then send you a letter of explaination and confirmation. They never call you!
Please remind all elderly relatives and friends that they should never tell anyone their account number especially over the phone and any Government department ,Centrelink,ATO, Medicare, DVA etc all know your account details as does your bank and they will never ask you for the numbers by phone.

Scam phone number. Do not answer or return phone calls from this number. They claim that you are owed money.
