Beware this is a scam and when called the scammers greet you with "Australian Taxation Office" however they are scammers and the legal number to call ATO is from their website https://www.ato.gov.au

This is not the ATO and is a scam job. Report them to the scam site through the ATO one.

Clearly a scam. A female Asian American voice purporting to be from the Australian Tax Office. It is a clumsy attempt as the terminology used is incorrect for the Australian legal system. Cases for fraud are not “filed”!!!

missed a call from this number on my mobile, called back from private land line. They answered with Australian Taxation Office, I asked why they called etc, was answered with the usual if you give me your details I can pull up your file. I said I'd prefer NOT to do that before confirmation of who they were and asked to speak to a manager etc. I got hung up on.

Auto recorded message of 30 seconds basically saying "you and your family" have not paid a taxation debt and a lawsuit has been lodged in your name and to call phone number provided to sort out. Obviously I ignored it but it can rattle you at first. And yes it was a female with an American accent on the message

I got the automated message and phoned back and they answered as the Australian tax Office. i asked the lady if she could ID herself as working for the tax office and she said she didnt want to that, so i told her that everyone knows this is a scam and she needs to stop. Got hung up on

Classis SCAM impersonating ATO. They are looking for a very small minority that will fall for this.

Called back number and they claimed to be the ATO and when I asked for proof that they were the ATO before giving them my info they hung up on me.

I called back and they said they were from ATO and I gave it to him and didn’t hold back he hung up

I missed a call from this number. They left a voicemail. It is a female robotic voice saying you and your family are being investigated and that I haven't contacted them so they are considering this an intentional tax fraud and that I need 26107738.

This number called me 6 times in a row. I called back got a strong accent announcing ATO.
As if any Australian government department would answer straight off with a real person. No automated menu options etc.

Called saying ... home you are now being investigated for fraud.. Automated message.. Left that number to call.. Looks like fraud..
