Me again. I want to clarify. (02) 6100 4444 is NOT a scam phone number. Rather it was a VICTIM of the scam when it was randomly picked by the scammers. I would hope it can be removed from this website soon. Is there a process to do that? Someone told me that the scammers change the number often. So I imagine there are many other victims who are getting their numbers listed.

Kam is correct aboat it being hoax. (That other message was mine.)
Scammers use a technique called "Caller ID spoofing" to pretend to be calling from somebody else's phone, and unfortunately in this case they used my phone number. I called the ATO about it. Their advice was to call them on 13 28 61, and tell them about your experience, quoting report number 374 407. Also, if you have provided your bank details to the scammers please call your bank immediately so they can lock your accounts. This is criminal activity, so you should also call the police on 131 444.

Say they are the ATO and I must phone back as it is to do with an audit! It sounds like it is an automated message. Before I heard this message there was another one saying the message is a hoax and to call the ATO and the police.
