They said that ATO has opened a number(!) of criminal proceedings against me (a retired person !) and, unless I call them back, I will be be arrested. Still, somehow they did not leave a message

I had the same recorded message saying that it was the ATO calling and that there was a law suit against me. It's a total scam .

Yes I just had someone call from this number stating that I will be arrested

I just received he same message that the Australian Taxation office has now issued a warrant for my arrest - This was totally robotic and absolutely fraudulent. DO NOT RETURN THE CALLS.
He said to dial 6100 3956

The moment you receive this message I want you to get back to me on my department division number 2 6100 3956. I repeat 2 6100 3956.
