american messagebank threatening if I didn't call back it would leave a legal mess?

This is a fake Australian Taxation Office scam. They called on mobile, then called on home number.

Claimed Tax fraud in my name. Called from a different phone and spoke to someone at this number, even though I had not mentioned my name or any other details they were able to tell me exactly how much I owed.. I asked him how he could know that as I had not told him my name. he hung up. Received (Message to text) from 2 different, but similar numbers, both claiming to be ATO. Second SMS claimed there was a legal affidavit - speaker ran out of time and rest of message not received.

same info, threatening message on home phone about a "legal mess" if I didn't call them back . . and of course when called back you are disconnected after one ring. also a stack of missed calls ( no messages) on my mobile from (02) 9188 2578 which is disconnected when called back.

I also got a fake ATO call from (02) 6100 3084. This appears to be a scam.

ato scam. ben lewis , indian acsent.
ive also been called from John mcain, ben curzon.
asked for visa card number.
wouldnt provide id and cut me off when i asked for his manager.

said they were Ato asked for visa card number . would not give an id , department name .asked to speak to manager was cut off 3 times.
