Said they were the ATO and were going to have me arrested if I didn't contact them rang ATO and reported the can and they said it was a scam so be careful.

I got the same threat about getting arrested by ATO for “tax evasion”...

Caller: Automated voice

Automated voice identified themselves as the ATO and said that I had been avoiding tax payments and attempts to contact me had failed.
The message prompted me to phone (02) 6100 3045 to resolve the issue before they issued a warrant for arrest.

Caller: Scary recording about Tax Fraud

Just what I need when I’m about to board a plane, some recording saying I was going to be arrested and to phone them back before it went to ‘execution’
Came up as a Canberra number. Relieved read this thread!

From a "private" number. Indian sounding man, I was eligable for $7000 from the ATO. Call this number & quote ref number to claim you money

Automated message (hint: the ATO never uses them - always a person will call).
Says mail has been sent to my address and returned, thereby rendering me to have caused tax avoidance. Stupidly though, I lodged my yearly tax return only 3 weeks ago... So I know this to be FALSE... this is a SCAM to be reported to the Police. Thanks

Just got the same call - didn't answer so they left an automated voice message saying a warrant was out for my arrest for tax avoidance. BEWARE!! They're doing the rounds.

Same as above. Recorded message saying they were from the ATO. Caller ID on my phone identified them being in Canberra so I thought it was legit until I heard the message - have submitted tax every year by due date so know this is a scam!!!!

Got the message about the arrest warrant too. As my mobile rang it came up with a comment of Potential Fraud so let it go to VM.

I got the call as well, robotic voice and said a warrant was out for my arrest, and told me to call back immediately on a number. Appears to be a scam

I was just left an automated message from this number. Same thing, warrant out for my arrest etc.

Same as others, saying they were from the ATO and had identified incorrect tax file “things” and to contact them urgently
