Received a call at 9pm last night from Kevin, an Indian man who was difficult to understand. Said he was phoning to fix a security problem on my computer that Windows had sent them details of. I suspected something was dodgy as it was late - he said they work 24 hrs a day. I know someone wouldn't ring on behalf of 'Windows' - he didn't even mention Microsoft, and as my computer security is with another company, I know something was strange. He left his phone number so I could call back. Very dodgy. Don't give them any details and especially don't give your credit card number!! It's a scam!!

We got a call from this number last night asking if they could help us fix a problem with our computer.  We fobbed them off by saying we would ring back and they gave this number and we rang Microsoft who told us this was a scam.  The person supposedly "takes over" your computer and fixes the problem and then asks for your credit card to pay for his work.If you want to check ring Microsoft on 132058.

I got exactly the same call, they know your address, name and other things. Told me to call (02) 6100 3034 and said they were Microsoft located on Russel Street in Sydney. The guy said his name was Abraham.
