A missed call from Albury, NSW which didn’t leave a message. I tried to call back only to get a ‘call failed’ tone. Obviously a scam call so I’ve now added the number to my ever-growing blocked list.

Caller: Robot Lady AI Pretending to be Charity Survey

AI-driven call, pretending to be human, supposedly wanting to gauge your interest in various charities.
It is a deceptive and rather unethical way of them trying to get money for forwarding your details on to charities that you have expressed interest in.
The voices sound real enough, until you take them off-script, and then it's easy to realise you are talking to a computer.
I find inquiring about their cat ownership tends to put them off...

i answered hello and our company name twice i repeated it nothing said and just as i hung up it clicked over to a sound very delayed its ether telemarketers or scammers i would be suspicious i am not ringing them back nor have they bothered to call me back which makes me suspicious

Fake charity survey. Scammers are using numbers in this series with last few digits changed each time.

Received a call from this number. Didn’t pick up. No message recorded. Looking on this site my suspicions confirmed. Very annoying receiving numerous unknown calls every day

Rings but doesn't leave a message. Our number is unlisted so when we call to check and number fails to pick up we block.

Reporting this number as a suspected scam call. I see from the numerous reports it is.

Scam call claiming to be from some charity service in Australia. Block and delete. They leave a voicemail in a robo voice

It took me a while to realise it was a scam. Made out to be calling on behalf of various charities. In hindsight I should have known earlier. Didn’t give out any sensitive info but annoying that I wasted my time.

Caller: multiple scammers

These scammers cannot be stopped regardless what you do so what we did is to finally program our fritz box modem to reject all out of state phone numbers, accept numbers we okay with, send to answering machine local unknown numbers, Peace at last. Clear the logs every few months of the hundreds of scam attempts.

Just received a call from this unrecognised number. Did not pick up and no message was recorded. I see here this is definitely a scam number, however am surprised a number of those who have reported this number also mention the fact they rang the number back. WHY?!! Doing so is exactly why this kind of call works. If everyone ignored incoming calls from random numbers which don’t leave a message and never call that number then this rubbish would not have a reason to exist.

When I answered someone spoke but line was breaking up. When I asked her to repeat, she treated me like an idiot who didn’t understand. She said I’ll speak more slowly and clearly for you. Grrrr! She then told me she was from a charity and I immediately interrupted and said “no, I’m sorry, we are not able to donate”. To which she replied, “I don’t think you understand, this is a charity call” Incredibly rude attitude.

Caller: A Charity

Call centre... Dead air before they spoke - which is actually a computer originated call system. They did state their business name, but the caller was not English speaking and the company was a call centre calling "on behalf of" a charity. Regardless, it's unacceptable and unappreciated.
