Got a voicemail from this number today. Same as above re: I've committed Tax Fraud. I would ignore and block this number.

A 'Michael Anderson' with a badly disguised accent claiming to be from the Australian Tax Office. Obvious scam.

Answered mobile then a pre-recorded American voice said he was from tax office so I hung up. Have reported & blocked this number.

Just had a call, and having a south east asian background, I was able to recognise the accent and tell him you're from Punjab, India, and all hell broke loose, he started giving me the nicknames of his family members *abusive language*

So if you get a call, just ask them if they're from India, and you'll come to know the reality.

Received a call, saying they have a complaint about workplace agreement, we must ring them back immediately...HMMMM

Apparently I am being taken to court for tax fraud unless I call - clearly a scam with people pretending to be representing the ATO - so why no prosecution

Why is this number still active. These other post are up to a year old. Yet i got a call from it today. Same as above someone pretending to be from ATO

Returned a missed call, who answered Australian Taxation Department, I laughed and said 'I had a missed call from this number', he said Can I have your name and Tax File Number, again I laughed and said 'No, you can't'. He replied with 'You just said you missed a call from me...' needless to say I hung up and blocked the number.

Kenneth the ATO tax agent based in New Delhi is back, when will our authorities do something about these low lifes?

Received a call just now from this number. Mentioned a name but I forgot it. Same deal as above; "tax fraud or evasion" "under your name", gave me a number to call, "do not disregard this call" kinda stuff. Call was to a business line and must have been pre-recorded because I tried to ask which name, specifically, he had, but the call ended.

Unanswered when I followed up missed call. Obviously,according to posts here, a scam. Wish such people had their phone numbers cancelled!

Just got a call today from the same Kenneth Mathews - saying ATO do not disregard my call re Tax owed

Same scam call as above - recorded message supposedly from Kenneth Matthews in ATO about legal case for tax evasion or avoidance. Have had calls on previous days with a different recorded message about a legal case for tax evasion, giving an 02 number to call which may be a different number to this one. I hope the police stop this scam soon
