I received a phone call from this number, automated voice stating there was a legal case with ATO under my name and to call them back on this number (02) 6062 3619. I called the ATO directly and they did not know of this 'scam', and said if it's a Tax thing, the ATO will identify themselves and wouldn't be an automated voice. They would also provide a registered phone number you can Google to confirm it's authentic to call back on to confirm its genuine.

This has all the traits of a scam!

Number is doing the rounds as an ATO scam saying people have committed fraud etc. Block number immediately, scammers

Scam caller left a voicemail in a robotic voice saying I would be arrested if I don’t call back

No the ATO will not call you out of the blue and say you will be arrested! You can report this to https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam I just received the same call, saying that I would be arrested and I have reported it to Scamwatch and have tried posting on a few forums like this to warn others.

Caller: Undisclosed 'department division'

I got a call from this number, and received a voicemail from a bot which said:

"The moment you receive this message I want you to get back to me on my department division number:

(02) 6062 3619

I repeat:

(02) 6062 3619

Now if I don't hear from you we have to issue arrest warrants and have you arrested. So get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you"

Just received the same threat, ATO NEVER EVER CALL to threaten a person with anything let alone an arrest in 20 mins!! Block them on your phone
