Tried calling back - the number that you have called is not connected. I didn't answer as I didn't recognise the number - (02) 5879 6485 - I'm guessing this is very similar from other comments to another number that called me just 10 mins ago saying they were calling about my internet connection !

Fraut, claimed they are Telstra and your Internetvis at risk. Need you to turn on the computer and follow their instruction. Surely we know what will happen if doing so.

Caller: Scammers

A woman called from (02) 5879 6485, speaking with barely intelligible English in a thick accent like Indian or a similar idiotic burbling abomination. She claimed to be from Telstra and had called me because they detected a problem with my computer and my Telstra internet. Strange, I have no Telstra internet and no computer connected to the internet! I asked her some questions such as what is my account number, and billing address, but she didn't answer those instead she just babbled on over the top of me. When I demanded she tell me my name, she stupidly stepped outside of her scripted scam responses and hazarded a guess at Brian! I told her she was a scammer and not from telstra. She was very rattled but persisted with her scam. I said my name's not Brian and you are a criminal. At that point she hung up on me. A call came from a similar number some 3 hours later but I did not answer it. I think this scammer group appears to use a variety of numbers in the range 02587964xx, though I'm not entirely sure about that. WARNING: Do not give these telephone scammers any details whatsoever, not your name or adrdress or DOB or account or bank detail... NOTHING!!

scam message on a saturday afternoon when the afl grand final was being telecast. Just ignored it

Keep calling. Deliberately didn't answer as anyone who knows me would know l am watching afl grandfinal

Answered the phone. No one spoke then a few seconds later an automated female voice says ‘goodbye’. Nuisance call.

I had 4 calls yesterday from them - each call got me aggressive - said they were from Telstra - that my IP address had been compromised - it is a scam to get you to give them access to your computer. Block them.

Auto voice telling me my internet is to be disconnected. Have had several calls from this number over several days. Definitely a scam!

Rang repeatedly. Hangs up within a second or two. Similar number to other scam numbers listed on this site (5879 64**).
