To Anon (05/01/16 -have only just read your comment) :

No, Aust Hearing aren't idiots sending phone messages to deaf people. They sent it to ME (100% hearing) for me to relay to my husband. Quite clever I thought! Should it have been to him they'd still be waiting for a reply!

Said my name & for me to call Australian Hearing but didn't say why or leave a contact phone number. I'm in Victoria yet this is from a NSW phone number? No, I will not be calling this number & not sure if it could be a scam or just blunt inpersonal calls to customers wanting membership fees. Their customer service in person & via contact is usually poor anyway!

I had an appointment with an excellent audiologist last year with them. Hearing aids cannot help one ear. The other hears well enough and she said I only need to contact them if hearing deteriorates in that ear, probably not for a couple or more years yet. Don't appreciate the call from Australian Hearing cutting across the audiologists advice I've been given. Blocked the calls for the future. I'll decide when I go!

Is a call centre used by Australian Hearing. Believe that they could also representing some of these on line dating sites for older people
Their response indicated a bad lack of knowledge of the Australian Hearing branch that I had been endeavouring to book an appointment with

Well, I did not call this number back after checking first on-line and thanks to you all I now know who the Company is that keeps calling from Port Macquarie. They call & don’t even leave a Voicemail. I have been receiving calls every 30mins and of course have even blocked this number, but for some reason they have still been able to try to call. Of course, I am like many of you. I am sick & tired of Charities & Companies calling, not leaving a message & so I block & do not call them back especially in this day & age where there are so many scams etc going on.

I got a call from this number and, because I didn't recognise it, I let it go to Messagebank. When I listened to the message, it was from Hearing Australia and the person said my name then asked me to ring a 1800 number. When I rang it, I got a recording that Hearing Australia was closed and would reopen on 11 January 2021.
