No, Aust Hearing aren't idiots sending phone messages to deaf people. They sent it to ME (100% hearing) for me to relay to my husband. Quite clever I thought! Should it have been to him they'd still be waiting for a reply!

Caller: Australian Hearing Said my name & for me to call Australian Hearing but didn't say why or leave a contact phone number. I'm in Victoria yet this is from a NSW phone number? No, I will not be calling this number & not sure if it could be a scam or just blunt inpersonal calls to customers wanting membership fees. Their customer service in person & via contact is usually poor anyway!

I had an appointment with an excellent audiologist last year with them. Hearing aids cannot help one ear. The other hears well enough and she said I only need to contact them if hearing deteriorates in that ear, probably not for a couple or more years yet. Don't appreciate the call from Australian Hearing cutting across the audiologists advice I've been given. Blocked the calls for the future. I'll decide when I go!

Most clients if not all clients of Australian Hearing Services are hearing impaired but not necessarily deaf. They can hear but not very well. They can hear and converse on the telephone. I am hearing impaired and a client; and I have no problems, with the assistance of hearing aids, in conducting a normal conversation and in using the phone.

From previous entries on this page, I guess this unanswered call was from Hearing Australia - I am one of their clients. I have no forthcoming appointment, I had a hearing test only a few months ago, so I don't know what they would be calling me about. I have taken the opportunity to send a complaint to HA, via their complaints page. It is rude to receive an unsolicited call without a message being left. I have decided to block this number, given that it has been noted that they call back frequently.
