Got a recorded message by a female (robot?) SUPPOSEDLY from the ATO saying there are concerns with my tax and to call this number back. I have had lots of calls like this so I got the ATO scam reporting hotline number of their web page 1800 008 540 and confirmed the scam calls with them. There are a lot of articles about the low life's who are doing this scam on mainstream media - google it. I know my tax affairs and I don't owe any tax. Not even going to engage with them and have deleted the message.

its f*cking scam I would like to be able to put a rope about their necks and hang them until death on a gum tree limb either that or shoot the scum dead. Simple result !

Spam caller 'impersonating' ATO. Hard at it 4 November 2016, so they haven't been squished yet.

An Indian gentleman rang me from this number claiming I owed the ATO $1,500 and I could go to Federal court if I didn't pay immediately. I questioned it and he got very aggressive, I then told him that I was working and couldn't speak with him until afterwards which made him more aggressive. He "couldn't" terminate the call until I informed him whether or not I wanted this to remain a private or public matter. When I told him I couldn't understand what he was saying he got MORE aggressive, so I hung up on him. Blocked the number.

This person called me and told me to call them back immediately so I did and then they were like what do you want? And I was like you called me... and they were like f*ck and hung up. I kept calling and they kept telling me to f*ck off. I asked if they were terrorists (as a joke) and they said yes. My last call I was like tell me wtf is going on you can't call me and tell me to call you immediately and then when I do tell me to f*ck off and his words were "don't piss me off. I will destroy you. I will f*cking destroy you. Do you understand? I will f*ck your ass in your home. Do not call again" I was like what the hell and he's like "yes. Do you understand? Don't call again" and hung up.

Everyone who receives this phone call, make sure you call the ATO and report them IMMEDIATELY

I just had the same phone call - claiming I have a case against me for tax fraud and need to hire a solicitor - I laughed and said who has a case against me? - he didn't respond so I politely gave him a piece of my mind and he hung up - naturally I tried to call back and they don't answer... so I called again and now it just beeps... surprise.

Today 21/11/2016 Indian man saying he was from a collection agency and if " states my last name " when he asked my fist name stammered to repeat then abused me in Hindi , Indian so I hung up !! Time wasters they are !!

Claimed to be calling on behalf of the ATO, when I told him I had not heard anything from the ATO directly he said goodbye and hung up.

Received call which I answered with automated message. Blocked number which continued to call and leave messages on my voicemail.

Message left my Automated voice - ATO on behalf of Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions to call back. I have no debt so def a SCAM!

I had the same experience claiming that I have summon and they want to represent me. They then asked for my details and since its a bit odd that they don't have it with them, I became suspicious. After asking them a lot of things, they hangup and when I called again, the guy told me please don't call again.

Just received call from this number this morning (11/11/2016) but I did not pick up the phone they leave voicemail with female robbot voice, Claimed as ATO on behave of director of commonwealth prosecutions. Yesterday (10/11/16) also received call claimed as ATO from this number (02) 6169 1058 .
They are SCAM!

Recorded announcer asking for call back to this number about an ATO debt. This is most definitely a scam.

Received an automated female voice claiming to be ringing on behalf of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions advising to ring urgently. Thought it was a scam and it obviously was as this is the number I was asked to call.

This is a trap. It has happened in America now they are planning to attack Australia.
