I regret answering this call, the telesalesman seemed determined to harangue me until I weakened. I didn't, but I did have to hang up on him.

Well it's on again! (Nov22 until ???) Harassment from a bunch of number clusters which are possibly related. All indications that they are organised scams.
Cluster One: From (02) 5127 6531, (02) 5127 6521, (02) 5127 6535 & (02) 5127 6511 over Wed16Nov22 to Fri18Nov22. No message left, apart from "..buh" (call ended),... until one was caught out by my very (very) brief outgoing message (the opposite of Archer's various elaborate prank announcements- Burn!) & thought he;d got through & tried to converse (sounded like a f'n limey/pommy flash, not flash git of up to 1/4 life age. The backpacking riff raff are back.) asking for someone else for whom I've given my number as a contact for a few vendors (but not Optus, Medibank, ACT Legal Aid). Rang last number back as well as likely switch # (ie (02) 5127 6500) & got immediate "not in service" type message with a computer generated sounding voice with a female Asian Sepo (Septic Tank-> Yank--> American) accent (ie two strikes/times illegitimate & clearly not from the network). Next time will answer & berate.Cluster Two: From (02) 9266 2015, (02) 9266 2018 & (02) 9266 2019 once or twice each over Tue01Nov to Fri18No22. No message left. Rang back the latter two & straight to a very faint engaged signal & a "line busy" indication on my mob screen (ie sophisticated enough to spoof the line busy status, but not enough to make the sound authentic)."Cluster" Three. From 0485 835 675. Only one call (so far?!?) during early evening 18Nov22, but came in between calls from C1 & C2 & I rarely get legitimate calls. Rang back & got a "Not in Service" message... that actually sounded real (the Telstra one with a recording of a real person (woman, skip)).Now to contact the vendors who may've been the source of the number/name data used by Cluster One, but don't even yet realise they've been hacked/breached (no 100 point ID info (Passport. MCC # etc), nor sensitive health info, so the data not worth holding for ransom & immediately sold on). Bugger!
