I called back the number (02) 5110 3157 and the person I spoke didn't mention the company name

Called left no message - appeared to come from a Canberra number. I called back, lady mentioned rebate and when i mentioned the police she hung up.

I called the number back and they said someone was trying to process a transaction of $200 for an ebay giftcard, when i mention I'll send the police over they hung up.

came up as suspected spam. Rang no back and they hung up.

Caller: eBay scam

Lady told me someone has tried to purchase gift cards with my eBay account and that my number has been compromised, was Verry vague on answers to my questions I believe it's a scam, no other contact from eBay via email or anything like that

Automated voice saying account will be debited for ebay

Allegedly eBay security advising that someone using my details is attempting to purchase eBay vouchers. $200 in total. Was not asking for any personal details but had to hang up as I was driving.

I rang a missed call back. The Indian (?) woman said she was from eBay's security section, quoted my phone number and name back to me. Said it was to do with an ebay purchase. I told her I don't do ebay and cancel anything done

Missed a call called back. Lady answered with a simple “hello” claimed I had tried to purchase a $200 eBay gift card two days ago and they had identified it as fraudulent. I asked where they were calling from and they said “I am calling from the eBay security department” I advised I would contact my bank directly and hung up.

Quite obviously a scam phone call. They could’ve at least tried to make it sound legitimate.

No message left and when I tried to call back (as I thought I knew the number), phone at the other end immediately hung up. Tried again straight away and the call was diverted to another number; however no reply … Apparently from Canberra, ACT?

This number called, left no message. Phone displayed "Suspected SPAM" so checked here...will block in 24hrs if no more calls come in or message left
