I have just had the same on my mobile, the fact that they did not use my name was the give away. call on phone says from the bateman area

Same thing happened to me. Wanted payment via a supermarket prepaid credit card. And to meet with "officer" catherine knight, in a coffee shop or my home. Would not given written information. Spoke to my account who stated this is a fraud.

I received this call also claiming to be Taxation Office.
Told them to 'go right ahead and issue their warrant'. What a scam!!

an angry recording saying they are the commonwealth taxation office. Claims there has been a complaint made against me (didn't state name), and I will be taken to federal court and I must ring this number back immediately. Accent noted.

Got the same message today. Claiming tax fraud and to call Ryan Maxwell at the ATO.

Same message --just like last year at Tax Return time. Major scam!

Had a phone call claiming I had been charged with tax fraud and avoidance. Returned the call and was told I had to pay to avoid myself being arrested. I asked if this was a scam and the guy got angry and asked if my husband was besides me. I then asked the guy who is my husband? What is his name? He said he wasn't trying to confirm him but just ask if he was standing next to me. I told him to p*ss off as I didn't even have a husband and if they were the real tax office, they'd know that.
