Caller: Male caller

This call showed as coming from Wollongong, NSW. When I answered a male voice with a strong Indian accent told me that he was some sort of travel group and that I had won a travel voucher for a week at some sort of resort. I told him that I wasn't interested and hung up. I strongly suspect it was a scam of some sort.

Initially the caller told me within the previous 2 years I had filled out a card comcerning travel and that I had "won" cheap hotel accommodation for 5 nights for 2adults and two children for $329 at 3 to 5 star hotels of my choice if I paid $329 and the cocession which applied to both New Zealand and Australia was valid for two years. WOW ! ! How lucky am I. My ship has come in yet again as this the third time I've been the beneficiary of such good fortune. After the initial contact I was transferred to the senior travel consultant (MR. MEGGA CON) who told me that I was expected to be the mystery shopper from his firm and I'd be asked to report on my experiences. He wated to know where I ususally stayed in Sydney and he didn't turn a hair when I told him I was a regular at the Lost Dogs Home it confirmed my view that's all a big con and he'd not from Australia. All this was done during a telephone conversation whlst I was driving. The call concluded with him wanting to phone me the following yay when I'd have access to a compter, the intenet and thus my bank acount. If he calls I'll post the outcome here. Cheers. Happy Camper.

Male mentioned name in phonebook by saying "I believe I am speaking to" initial of firstname then a familyname "Right? " The many voices in background sounded dominantly like a callcentre. He was extremely rude and abrupt. Our phonenumber is on The Do Not Call Register . He did not call back. It was definitely a spam call.

Why is it so easy to spoof Australian numbers? Are we a technological backwater or something?

Suspicious call, didn't bother to leave a message. Have seen similar suspicious calls on this number group. Beware, block it, or dial the number and tell them to &^%$ off.

This number called 2mobiles and our landline SIMULTANEOUSLY. No messages left on any of our numbers. Obviously a scammer to be calling 3numbers at the same time.

I have a Telstra internet phone that is not even connected to a phone but we still get lots of calls like this one - I can review them in the Telstra Gateway under Telephony - so glad I do not have that "free" internet phone connected. So far 100 calls since Aug23 including calls from USA but mostly from "within Australia"

When landline and 2mobiles ring at the same time from the same number it is definitely a scam. Left no messages on any of the phones.

Hung up before I could answer. That number is not known to me and judging by all the other reports seems to be a scammer.

Male Indian voice calling from a call centre at 10pm waking me.
I said do you realise what the time is?
He replied but I need to give a holiday away. I screamed at him not to ring this number again and I hung up.

Caller: OBVIOUSLY A SCAMMER

FULL NAME AND ADDRESS DOES NOT MATTER. JUST DONT GIVE THEM YOUR BANK DETAILS AND IF THEY HAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS DONT CLICK ON ANY LINK BECAUSE THAT ENABLES THEM TO GET INTO YOUR COMPUTER AND LOOK FOR ACCOUNT NUMBERS AND HOPEFULLY FOR THEM PASSWORDS.

After answering and having a dead line, I remained silent until the other end began to speak. The lady on the other end introduced her as some sort of Travel Company but it sounded like a call centre. When she asked if I could speak I abruptly told her No, she had called a business and then I hung up.
