Automated voice call saying that they are calling from eBay - but I haven't purchased anything on eBay or posted anything for sale on eBay for almost a year.

This number is an Ebay scam. Normally for Newcastle residents as I know three people locally that have received this call from this number. Ebay scam alerting you to money spent from your account. I stayed on the line to see what these scammers had to say ( btw I don't have an ebay account)

Threatening message on some possibly caucasian feamle voice demanding final payment of $99.99 for an ebay purchase. The amount is suspicious, as though they / it is trying to remain below some scam call AI cut off. This is a federal police matter as they can certainly put the people / computers in gaol and thus protect the unsuspecting pensioner public, of which I am one. What is their problem in delaying this follow-up, there have been enough replies to indicate that this is an organised scam????

Caller: Automated call from eBay

Something to do with an outstanding payment for an eBay purchase and to call a number to cancel the order to the value of about $199.99. My last order on eBay was for $9.99 so it is a scam caller and now blocked from calling me again.

A robocall with a female voice said I had purchased something from eBay for $199.99 and gave a phone number I should call if I wanted to cancel the order. It also said to press a number of different buttons if I wanted to speak to various departments. The message repeated a number of times, and then the call ended. An obvious scam.

Recorded message saying $99.99 has been charged to my account.

Total scam. Don’t bother calling back or responding. This should be reported.

Caller, possibly Eurasian(?) stated that I had purchased an eBay gift card and that to cancel the "order"call the above number "immediately." But in fact I had not ordered anything from eBay for several weeks! I asked the alleged purchaser name and was told Miller (not my name, not even close.)

Ebay Scammers

I never answered this number, however, they left a recorded message saying, “(02) 4062 0014, press 1 to cancel your order.” As if I called them. It was weird but I take it it was a scammer. The number is from Newcastle though. A landline number.

Voicemail recorded message asking to call this number or hit 1 on keypad to cancel a placed order. Almost certainly a scam.
