As others have said, an automated voice, very poor voip. Answer machine took the call. Maxotel speech to text did a great job!
"Trying to get in touch with you. However we will be disconnecting your Internet connection within 24 to 48 hours as your IP address has been compromised from several countries. So we need to change your IP address and router which will be free of charge. So please press 1 to get connected to the technician."
I have no internet connection at this location.

Fed up with these calls

I have registered my phone number with every Do Not Call register, yet still I get these calls. They are scammers and the Telcos' could stop them if they wanted to, however I suspect these scam calls are worth a lot of money to the Telcos'.

As others have said... a very poor voice recording from "Shirley, from internet provider" advising my IP address has been compromised by several different countries and the internet will be disconnected within 24-48 hours if I don't update my IP address... press 1 to speak to a technician.
Where do these idiots get this from? Does anyone fall for this stuff?
Recommend do not answer calls from this number. Block it!

Obviously a scam, Telstra should identify them and report to the Police and have them charged accordingly.

I used to get call just like those, from this number too, but most of them were live calls.

2-3 times a week, & combine them with the other scam calls I got, plus telemarketers, I used to get between 15 to 25 unwanted calls during a 7 day week.

The do not call list, a joke really, eliminated most legitimate unwanted calls, but still I got over 10 scammers a week. It got worse & worse, & TELSTRA were little to no help....They always cried that "due to legislation" they weren't able to do this or that...

Well, then they suggested I get an inexpensive Call Guardian phone.

This phone works so good. In the phone you have room for hundreds of personal contacts. If you put in a personal contact, & they person calls you, they get right through & your phone rings as it should (unless you choose to block them at some future date for some reason), but if someone calls you & they aren't on your contact list, they get a recording saying the the user has Call Guardian & is requiring incoming callers to announce themselves & then press the hash button......if they do this, they hear the ring signal, & at the same time I hear my phone ring as normal. When I answer the phone, & I want the call speak to the caller who announced themselves, I have to press the number 1 button to accept the call. Then later on if I wish to put this number in with my other contacts I can, & this person will always get through (unless I decide to block it in the future).

What's great about this is those overseas scammers always have a delay, & never announce themselves, & never press the hash button #.....so as you might have guessed the call doesn't go through, & I NEVER hear my phone ring.....even if the call comes in live, the scammers NEVER want to announce themselves, & they just hang up.....& I never know it ( no ringing took place) unless I check my phone to see that 3 or 4 people called, who weren't on my contact list, & either just hung up or didn't want to announce themselves....those were, most of the time, unwanted calls.....calls that used to get through!! They're still callin', but they aren't getin' through to bother me!!!!

The Telstra Call Guardian.....best thing I ever freekin' got!!!.....It stops those unwanted calls dead in their tracks!!!!! 99.99%.......Now it sometimes get boring not having a telemarketer to yell at, & hang up on, but I NEVER get bothered anymore!!!! Great trade-off!!!

This idiot's recorded voice was so broken up, I doubt the scammers have a technician working for them, I mean why would they, they have no brains and deserve whatever pain and suffering they get because they sure do cause a lot. A slow painful death would be adequate punishment for them, no doubt their god will deliver it, but for me, I just block and block and block.

Caller: An Indian gent saying his name was Edward Collins

Saying that they have been trying to contact me as my internet had been hacked by several different countries.and that my internet would be disconnected. Told me to press 1 I didn't. Asked him for his phone number. He said 03 46500091,completely different number to the one he was calling from. ( have caller ID). I hung up and rang the number to give him sh*t and it wasn't even connected. Rang Telstra and they confirmed it was a scammer.

Message that IP address was compromised and they would need to change the IP address and router otherwise they would need to disconnect within 24hours.
Initial recorded message was played and asked to press 1.
Indian sounding chappie came on the phone.
Blatant criminals wanting to steal from you.

I just got called about 4 times. The same logic was given, it has stopped after I told them that if they disconnected my service I would call my provider and have it reconnected. This was after I threatened to call the police.
