Call appears to come in on (02) 3456 7891 but the missed call notification (they hang up before you can answer) has (07) 3018 7514 as the number. CRAP.

I have 'Caller ID' on my phone. It costs $15 a month, I think, but OMG it is well worth it !! As soon as I see the number, I know straight away it is a scam/rubbish caller and ignore it. Usually they are 02..... area code, or 03....area code. I live in WA, and our area code is 08, and I have no relations or friends living anywhere in the eastern states. Also, Private calls, and a few 'Unavailable'. Just ignore them all. Everybody...........GET CALLER I.D. ON YOUR PHONE. Being on the 'Do Not Call' register, is just a waste of time. A Telstra rep. told me that most of these scam callers get numbers through their computers, which avoids Telstra or other phone servers. So, doing this they avoid that register. I once answered a regular number which was peeving me off some time ago, and I answered as "Good morning, .......... Police Station, Sergeant Jenkins speaking". The Asian guy just laughed at me and said, "No, you are ........" and proceeded to tell me my christian and surname, AND my address. They're good!!!

Caller: Telstra scam They called saying my computer is infected and has been hacked. Funny because they rang my work number and we have good security and an IT department.

They've started calling again for the new year. Very frustrating as I have an unlisted number. I get more crap phone calls nowadays than I ever did when my number was listed!

When I noticed it was a sequence of numbers I waited for them to leave a message. Of course, they did not. Thanks to this site will block caller. My first spam for 2019. Looks like this is an old spam being resurrected. My next blocked caller will be 'special' - 100 since getting NBN and caller ID 14months ago.
