Told me my computer had been attached and do not turn off computer. turned my computer off.

laptop got attacked and locked with warning"do not turn off your pc, call MS center..." it's an attempt to get your attention.
Turn your PC completely off holding down start button until all lights are off.
Upon restart all good

They get you to call them sounds legit at first but they try to get access to your computer - we just turned the computer off and everything was fine - do not call them

SCAM Just got this message saying my computer has been locked as it has been “hacked”and call this number. Shut it down by holding the off key and the computer has now restarted and I ran a virus and smart scan and all good

This is a scam!
Number provided as part of internet browser / website from news site claiming device is infected with urgent virus.
When called the "customer agent" attempts user to install Any Desk remote access software to fix the non-existent problem
DO NOT INSTALL - terminate call and clear browser history.

"Microsoft Security Customer Support" number.
showed on multiple pop up windows that was partially blocking use of our tablet.
Not sure if it is legitimate as Microsoft show 132058 as the main (and only number i could find) contact number.
also had calls back on:

After hanging up on them while they asked me to type in a URL "Rsupport *something" they have not called back.
Very loud call centre noise in background of every call.
