I think the number is legitimate for iinet, as it is listed on their website, but the email is a scam. They hope you press the account link to get your details.

The email I received didn't have a link... wow they can't even get that right!
Here's what they sent me, apparently I'm a "costumer"....
Dear values costumer,
We couldn't process the payment using your current credit card.
We'll try to proceed with payment again.
Please, check if your billing information is up-to-date.
Please click here to complete the billing.
Thank you once again for your time today.
Kind Regards
The iiNet Team

I got a scam email supposedly from iinet telling me I need to update my billing details. It showed this phone number which is the real number for iinet tech support. But the link to update billing details would, if you were rash enough to click it, take you to "asaipestcontrol.com/google". Clearly the email isn't from iinet.

Caller: Suspected scammers
Had two transactions for direct debit from my bank account for amounts of $25 per month to Iinet.
Don't have Internet, nor would $25 per month be realistic.
Contacted bank, bank was able to stop the last transaction as it was still pending, but haven't received the first amount.
Instead IV received SMS with threats to suspend.
I checked the website site connected to this phone number.
Website looks suspicious as reference to iinet at the top of the page but reference to iiNet at the bottom of the page.
So... Iinet, iinet,iiNet.
Three different ways to spell a business name is highly suspect, surly they would be consistent with the professional use of their trademark business name.
Will investigate further into the three web links they have sent me.
Also!!!
Will contact ACCC regarding this

They are associated with 3-4 other companies under TPG Banner?
Even though you don’t have iiNet account, you could have an Adam internet account for example??

They are after your bank details so they can withdraw money, disgusting scammers that neither the government nor iinet seem to care about. IInet was hacked sometime ago and somehow these scum ended up with details of people - seems nothing can be done other than be careful
