Please complain to the Financial Ombudsman and/or the NCR (National Credit Regulator), both handle complaints about debt collectors and can take decisive and severe action. I am complaining myself about their unprofessional and bullying practices which breach the ACCC guidelines. If enough people complain we can put them out of business and prevent them harming anyone else, particularly the elderly or vulnerable. One voice is rarely heard but many voices in unison can't be ignored.

I've been trying to call this bloody number for 3days straight to pay my stuff off leaving voicemail after voicemail , i haven't got long left till THERE deadline THEY gave me and so it's Friday . They don't open on weekends so I got to wait till next week HOPING they get back to me or I'll just have to keep trying Zzzzzz

Even if you pay the debt off they will keep making enquiries on your Credit Report every month. so when you think you have paid the debt and apply for a loan,it shows up that Lion have made constant enquiries.They don't care that it is statute barred.You can ring,wright to them and they wont listen that the debts been paid.

I have a friend who has been paying off a debt, which is in their name. They asked lion where the debt was incurred and was told they could not give out this information. I told my friend, ring again and if they won't give them the info they need to pursue this matter then let them know No Info No more money, take them to court as lion threatened, at least they should get the info. The pricks haven't got the balls to show their face. But you can stand up to them.

They have been helpful all the way, Very low repayments, no interest.
Just remember, as long as you pay, after 5 years your credit file clears all debts, even though you may be still paying off to Lion or someone similar.
I still owe $11k , but my credit file is now clean. as long as you have been paying, your credit file WILL BE CLEAN after 5 years.
I can now apply for a loan or a credit card through a bank...
I actually applied for 3 VIRGIN ST GEORGE AND NAB. all valued at $10k and got all 3. and as I said STILL WITH 11k OF BAD DEBT being paid to LION.

by the way.....I ripped up the credit cards when I received them!!! (just applied to see if I could get them) ....

Lion insurance rang chasing my very elderly in laws for a debt their daughter apparently owed. She has has been deceased for many years yet lion insurance continue to call demanding evidence of her death. Her estate had no monies. She rented a property and was on a govt. pension and bipolar .
Father in law has din e had heart attack and is critical . This is due to the stress caused by these blood sucking mother fu...kers, the family is now considering legal action against this unwarranted and continued harassment. . How can anyone stop do low as to commit such a despicable act and also work, if that's what you call it, for these parasites

I paid a debt back which I got through a stuff up with a change of contact details with Westpac over a year ago in full, within a month, with these guys and the black mark that they promised to remove is still on my name which they promised to remove. the only reason I found out is I went for another loan and was told I have a black mark against my name. when I called them they gave me the run around and said they didn't have to remove it only say its been paid. any ideas on how to get them to remove it? its affecting my loan applications!

I just had my neighbour come around. she is old and frail. To give me a note with a number on it. When I called the number it was Loin finance, debt collectors.
I do not have any outstanding debts. They are after someone with the same last name but when they called me months ago I told them so.

To Bek...that's not possible or lawful for any collection agency to garnish wages unless your friend agreed to it. So you have either got your story wrong, you actually work for these scabs Lion Finance or your friend is a complete idiot. The initial contract with whoever you owed money to was paid for by the lenders insurance company. Then Lion finance bought that debt for next to nothing, its virtually a legal scam of intimidation and bluff. However Lion finance now thinks your friend owes them and they will intimidate, threaten and bluff you into thinking you owe them. Seriously have you seen how much interest the banks make yearly? does it look like your friends debt even made one dent in their profit? Go to your lender and ask them to give you the initial contract so you can pay them back and they will say you owe their bank nothing that the contract is long gone.

If I had any outstanding debts now or anytime in the past I would expect to be contacted by a debt collector. I DON"T HAVE ANY DEBTS I only have the misfortune to have the same last name and the same first initial as the first name of the person they are looking for. They don't say who they are when they ring and every time they ring they say the same thing. "They don't know if I can help them, but does this particular person live here". When I told them NO they carry on with, "does anyone living here know him, do I know where he lives". I tell them NO to everything, but they keep ringing and go through the same thing. I DON'T KNOW THIS PERSON AND HAVE NEVER HEARD OF HIM UNTIL THEY STARTED RINGING. One day they rang every hour. I then contacted my phone service provider and got them to block their number. Next day a call came through from a private number, who didn't leave a message. I presumed it was them. I put a message to my friends on my answering machine to say when they call to leave a message so I could get back to them. If they don't leave a message I don't get back to them. Today I got call from a mobile number who I assumed was from Lion Finance trying to trick me into answering. No message left So I didn't call the number back. . If you read some of the other previews you will see you don't have to have a debt for them to harass you. I would like to see them take me to court as I am not the person they are looking for and the person they are looking for has never lived at this address.

I owed a debt of 31K on a credit card Lion harassed me constantly and ended up taking me to Court, I had to get a lawyer who eventually negotiated down to 21k that I have to pay $1,000 of monthly. I think they go for broke on anything over 15K so its hard to ignore. In saying that my debt was at least 6 years old and it didn't go away. They were ruthless, I served them papers back saying I didnt owe my ex did and it went around in circles but they basically took it to the Magistrates Court last year and I won in the fact the Judge said that my husband could have incurred the debt without my knowledge, basically all it did was give me extra time. I have another debt with them and they are chasing me on that now as well, I just told them to f.... off I am paying of 21K you are not getting another cent out of me.

I am not happy with Lion Finance claiming I have outstanding payments when I don't
