Caller: Community Awareness Magazine and Emergency Health Jounal

Company called Community Awareness Magazine caught me out a couple of months ago. they told me I had approved advertising in November which I do not recall doing but I had been unwell and in hospital in November so there was a chance I didn't remember it. I got a call yesterday advising the same story about advertising authorised last year but this time it was Emergency Health Journal. They said that someone was going to call me today and they needed to use my DOB or similar as a confirmation code to verify it was them.

I told them my football team but someone called me today using my DOB. when I called that out she quickly panicked and advised that she was going to call me back. They always call from a different mobile number. she didn't call back but I received an invoice this afternoon from Emergency Health Journal.

I went to Community Awareness Magazine and Emergency Health Journals websites and the 1300 number is Identical.

If you are wondering how you ended up on this database for these scammers I believe it has something to do with a company called Country Wide Austral Pty Ltd which does advertising for most of the volunteer emergency services I put an advertisement in one of their publications last year called the Phoenix Journal and their approach is similar however they ask you to approve something and get all your details via email

They are either in on this scam or they are being used as the useful idiots. Either way I have pulled the Phoenix Journal as well. I would love to advertise in something like this that helps support the community but unfortunately the scammers ruin it for everyone. I will stick to traditional forms of advertising.
