How easy is it for telcos to give these clowns numbers all the time? Or not take action when numbers are spoofed? Yet if I legit wanted one I wouldnt be able to get one.

EDR theft victim

Caller: Woolworths EveryDay Rewards verification

The very next day (27Dec21) there was another report of $100 EDR credits being stolen from a nearby shopping centre Woolworths (Balukhm Hills).
Woolworth need to close this vulnerability - it has been going on for months.
Number plate matching of exit within one hour from the two shopping centres may help identify the thief.
If self checkout, then Wollies have face recognition video for both instances.
"E-receipt shows this thief was at Store 1105 Baulkham Hills (not too far from Top Ryde) and used checkout POS 001 paying the excess with a $20 note and received change 27 Dec 21 20:18."

Theft of $100 from my EDRewards account.

32 minutes after I got the text message, a low life scum spent my $100 EDRewards credit at Woolworths 1339 Top Ryde using checkout POS 087 (TRANS 225 17:44 26/12/2021). I get e-receipts.

I rang the store and suggested they look for someone going through the checkouts on 20 minute rotation draining multiple EDRewards credits. The store has video of them.

We all need to work together to eliminate these 10th class citizens.

At 17:12 I got the same text as most people above "XXX is your verification code. This code is valid for 20min. If you didn't expect this SMS please call 1300 10 1234 (9am-7pm Mon-Fri, 10am-4pm Sat-Sun AEST)"

I got this too and it is a genuine message. (Although I'm sure there could be fakes, don't click on any links or phone numbers)
It is a "2 factor authentication" to log into my Woolworths "Everyday rewards card" account. Someone is trying to log into my account, either accidently or to hack in and steal the reward points.
If you have an EDR card, just log in and make sure your account is still secure. I've updated my password to be super hard in case it was someone trying to steal my reward points.
Maybe WW can apply flood control though - I feel sorry for anyone getting > 2 msgs - especially 93 in one night !!

I got 4 verification text messages in a row 462902 is your verification code. This code is valid for 20min. If you didn't expect this SMS please call 1300 10 1234 (9am-7pm Mon-Fri, 10am-4pm Sat-Sun AEST).
I don’t have an account with Woolworths so it was very strange and I called them up and they couldn’t find my number linked to any accounts but the lady said IT will look further into it and will make sure my phone number is not on their system.

The message is legit from Woolies. Someone has hacked your account. I just got the message and rang them after looking up the contact number online. I've just closed the ac. It's getting too dangerous these days to have an online presence....but what's the alternative. Who's looking after us? You have to provide your details for so many things these days even if it's just getting a quote. My poor 90 year old mother received a call claiming that she's a criminal and has a warrant out for her arrest. Boy oh boy!

The phone number is legit, the verification text is the security put in place a couple of years ago and shows when someone is trying to hack your account. I rang and got my account locked until they could work it out

Ok, so this is a legit number for Woolworths Rewards program. I also received multiple text messages -verification code, and then one saying my details had changed. This occurred on a Saturday night. Thought the number looked dodgy (1234 seriously?) When I logged in to Everyday Rewards though, on a different device, not through a link, my email and mobile had been changed, and so had my choice to save for Christmas been changed to redeem as you go. There was a $250+ shop in Melbourne (I'm in Sydney locked down) recorded earlier that day - I changed all the details back, changed my password....and then 9 days later the same thing happened. I call the number immediately and got the account locked while they investigate

Same happened to me today from ED rewards. When I went to log in to my Woolworths account, I received a verification request from Woolworths, not EDrewards and the number to call was different - 1800 000 610, not 1800 101 234. Suggest blocking EDrewards number

I keep receiving txt messages from Woolworth Everyday Rewards Team but haven't shopped at Woolies for over 5 years or used my card. I've gone through Woolworth website and have not found any ED Rewards Promotions
I'd say it's a scam. Report your message as SPAM, block and delete number would be my advice. That's what I did. I hate scammers.

"****** is your verification code. This code is valid for 20 min. If you didn’t expect this SMS please call 1300 101 234 etc. "
First message was received at 2.03am this morning then continuous messages until I turned my mobile off at 2.20am. When I turned my mobile on this morning, there were 90 messages, all the same text but different verification code. I have blocked the 1300 number but hope that it is the same number that the messages have been sent from.
