They send you a book of tickets and if you do not send them back they ring and demand to know why. Well we did not ask you to send them.

Only two complaints this year for this number, according to the side-panel. Really? Make this another complaint.

Royal life saving society looking for charity donations. They call me everyday, sometimes twice a day. I either immediately hang up the call or don't pick up. They don't seem to get the point.

Telephone company should do something about this; not just charging their customers, sure they know it is a scam.

I had a call from lifesaving people, they have called us at least 10 times already in the past 2 weeks, the times that we could actually be spending working and receiving calls from new clients is when they usually call.

Also get lots of different calls to my land line which I do not use as the sound is turned off, thought this would stop calls.

I rang the 1800 number and the lady said that she represented the RLSS and would remove our phone numbers from their records. However, that would not remove them from the "p...ks at 97610200. As other respondents have said, there is no point contacting the DNCR because these "charities" are exempt.

My mobile account has just been billed $400 for calls to this number. I have never heard of the nubut surely, being in the businesmber or had calls from the number. This is through iiNet using Optus as the carrier. They are reluctant about crediting my aut surely being in the business they must have heard of this number and its behaviour.

Charities are not allowed to leave messages as it costs to retrieve them. There are different shifts eg 9-2 and 3-8. Please answer and say you cant help, then you wont get called until next lottery. If you dont want to get called at all, ask to be taken off the call list. If you purchase from a shop, dont put your phone number, they will contact you buy registered mail if you win.

I phoned the 1800 number and had my phone numbers removed from 'all charities' list. Let's see if it works!??!!?

Telemarketing companies use automated dialing systems so they can set the up to dial when you are most likely to be home hence the calls every night or weekend mornings. There are no actual operators dialing. When you answer the phone their system puts you through to one of their operators so there is a 2 or 3 second pause. If you answer you phone and don't get a response instantly as you would expect if your friends were calling, you have time to hang up. Don't worry about their costs, it costs almost nothing.
I too hate the way they are flouting the 'do not dial' rules.
I'm pretty sure also the same company dials for several other charities too. I started getting calls from several charities all about the same time.
